I am trying to download an eBook to another device and receive the following error from Adobe Digital Editions
These error messages indicate that there was an issue with Adobe Digital Edition’s (ADE) authorization information. This usually occurs when you select “I want to authorize my computer without an ID” during the setup process.
When you add a book to your library without authorizing ADE, the book is tied to a local temporary account. Adobe’s servers reject the request since the book is already “owned” by the temporary account.
You will need to de-authorize and re-authorize ADE and install all of your books again. You will also need to contact Manhattan Prep Tech Support to request that we reset the eBooks.
Note: Proceed to the next step only after receiving confirmation of the eBook reset from Tech Support
Follow these steps to re-authorize ADE:
- Open ADE
- De-authorize ADE
- Windows: CTRL + SHIFT + D
- Mac: COMMAND + SHIFT + D
- Select ‘Erase Authorization’
- Click OK and close ADE
- Mac Users Only: Open Finder and navigate to /Users/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Digital Editions. Delete the file ‘activation.dat’
- Open ADE
- Re-authorize ADE
- Windows: CTRL + SHIFT + U
- Mac: COMMAND + SHIFT + U
- Download your eBooks again
